Many actors meet their significant others-to-be while at work. Think about it: spending well many hours at a job is bound to spark a little romance between co-workers. When you start talking about stars who fell in love while on set, you realize that the list gets pretty long. Unlike the rest of us, most actors’ romances are viewed under a microscope. The minute we hear that two celebrities are in a relationship, we want to know everything: How did they meet? How long have they been together? Do they go on double dates? How often do they fight? Mix this curiosity in with some casual paparazzi photos and the pressure is on for any celebrity love birds who are just trying to get to know each other. Between being in the public eye, having crazy work schedules, and barely getting any alone time, most relationships that are stuck in the limelight eventually dwindle and vanish. Fortunately, that doesn’t stop most actors from falling in love with one another on set. And that doesn’t stop us from obsessing over them. Here are 16 celebrity couples who fell in love on set.
1. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck
One good thing that came out of Daredevil movie seems to be this relationship. “That’s where I found my wife,” he told Playboy magazine. “We met on Pearl Harbor, which people hate, but we fell in love on Daredevil.” The two got married in 2005 and have three kids together. Sadly the marriage has been on the rocks recently.
2. Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds
The couple met in 2010 when they were cast as leads in the movie Green Lantern. Although the film was a bit of a flop, they came away from the experience with a solid friendship formed. That worked because at the time, Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson and Lively was dating Penn Badgley, her co-star on Gossip Girl. Finally, in October 2011, People reported that the friendship had blossomed into a romance. The actress was spotted leaving Reynolds' Boston apartment over his birthday weekend, while he was in the city filming R.I.P.D., as People reported. A short year later, they were married in a surprise ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
3. Samira Wiley And Lauren Morelli
Have you ever heard about Lauren Morelli? This young woman rose to stardom after the release of 'Orange Is the New Black' but she is also well-known for coming out. The couple wed in March 2017 in a touching and beautiful ceremony and now they try to spend every second with each other. However, it is usually difficult. Samira once confessed:"We don’t get to spend that much time together, we’re always traveling, so it’s really special when we are together to be able to take the time and look in each other’s eyes.”
4. Natalie Portman And Benjamin Millepied
Portman recounted first laying eyes on her choreographer now-husband during a 2018 appearance. Millepied, who met Portman while working on Black Swan, made an otherwise embarrassing parking mistake that ended up endearing him to the actress. "Pretty close," she told host Andy Cohen when asked if it was love at first sight. "He parked backward on the street, like, I saw him- we were on a first-floor studio - and he parked like the wrong direction. And I was like, 'okay, that fits.' “
5. Kurt Russell And Goldie Hawn
The 1984 romance Swing Shift follows a woman working at an aircraft plant while her husband is away at war. She then starts falling in love with a musician. The couple has stayed together 32 years now and have had one child together, Wyatt Russell. “I was 21 and he was 16 and I thought he was adorable but he was much too young,” explained Hawn when she met Kurt on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. “And then years later we met up again and I liked him and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. But we both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell.”
6. Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie
The two costars played a couple in Mr. & Mrs. Smith where they fell in love on set. The thing is Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston during that time. The two ended up getting divorced a year after the movie. It was a huge scandal, but now the actors are married and are open about the affair. “Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love,” Jolie told the New York Times. The movie is also Brad Pitt’s favorite. When asked why, he told Rolling Stone, “Because you know… six kids. Because I fell in love.”
7. Emma Stone And Andrew Garfield
The two stars played lovers Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man. “We got on really well as people,” Garfield told MTV “in between. That was the fun stuff: In between, we’d just mess around, and I felt, ‘Ah, this is different.’ I wasn’t really aware of what was happening in the screen test. She keeps you on your toes, and that wakes you up. That was the beginning.” Their relationship lasted four years before they announced their split in 2015.
8. Johnny Depp And Winona Ryder
The two started seeing each other and fell in love. Back then, she was 17 and he was 26. In an interview with People, Depp openly gushed about the actress and professed his undying love for her. He said he could not imagine his life without Ryder. “There’s been nothing in my 27 years that’s comparable to the feeling I have with Winona… I love her so much. I don’t know what I would do without her. I love that girl. I love her almost more than I love myself.” Sadly, they broke up two years later.
9. Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams

10. Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem
After maintaining a low profile for two years, they married in 2010 and had two children, a son named Leo and a daughter named Luna. In 26 years, they have collaborated on nine films, including, most recently, the Pablo Escobar biopic Loving Pablo in 2017 and the psychological thriller Everybody Knows in 2018.
11. Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson
Stewart and Pattinson began an on-set flirtation in 2008 while playing Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in Twilight. They starred together in the next four installments of the Twilight franchise – New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn: Part I and Breaking Dawn: Part II, but split after Stewart’s alleged involvement with her Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. Pattinson and Stewart briefly reconciled but parted ways again in 2013.
12. Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin
This onscreen couple fell in love IRL while filming their show True Bloods. Stephen Moyer instantly knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Anna Paquin. “By day three or four [of being on set] – oh, this is going to sound so syrupy – but I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. It was within seconds, really, and it just became a thing,” explains Moyer. Luckily, this blood-thirsty couple is still together. They got married in 2010 and are parents to twins.
13. Rachel Mcadams And Ryan Gosling
The two costars played younger versions of Noah and Allie in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation. Just like their characters, the actors had a real tumultuous relationship and it ended in 2008, and Gosling went on to fall in love with another co-star.
